When our forefathers created the Bill of Rights, they gave us the right to have access to our elected representatives to promote changes within the government. I do not believe, however, that our forefathers anticipated the unbridled greed for money and power of our current representatives who ignore their constituents’ wanted and need to follow the money trail of big business, all the while lining their pockets.

Lobbying has gone from the ideal of the common man to have the right to speak to his representatives about personal and local concerns to a multimillion business that sways greedy politicians at the expense and suffering of ordinary citizens.

Also I saw Jennifer Schwalbach walk from the stage to a reserved seat in the back of the club before the show started.  As we left, I walked past her table and saw a mountain of olives that I can only assume were from a ton of cocktails she had during the show.  The entire experience was so awesome.  Only thing that would have made it better would have been to grab a pic with Ralph and Kevin.  But by the time they were done it was 10:30 and we had to drive back to York from Philly.  Got home around 1:30 am and I was cached.

The trailers they have been playing on HBO between their other shows and movies have all been intense.  It would seem Nucky loses control over a lot of what’s going down in and out of Atlantic City and Jimmy is steppin’ up in a big way.

I said the series is full of “Oh Shit” moments and the first one hits within the first few minutes of the show when the KKK opens up fire on Chalky White and his crew.  Chalky gets his though and pops one of The Klan members who later dies in the episode.

After that intense scene, the rest of the episode kinda drags.  The entire hour kind of felt like one big build up to the end scene in which Nucky gets arrested for election fraud.  This episode was filled with either people planning to cut Nucky out of the bootlegging business or people being with their families.

Besides the scenes I talked about above, I felt there are only two other strong scenes.  First being when Nelson Van Alden held the raid at the restaurant him and his wife were enjoying dinner.  How this will effect the story, I don’t know, but it did give Nelson a chance to show his testicular fortitude.

The other scene I thought was cool was when Richard Harrow was cutting images and pasting them into a book thus making a scrapbook.  The book was filled of images of happiness and families being together.   You can tell this is something Richard really wants, but with his face the way it is, he feels it can’t happen for him.  With Richard already being an unstable character (with killing people so easily), this scene just drops a inkling that he might have some sort of mental meltdown in the future.

The Conclusion: As I mentioned, the whole episode felt like a build up to the end scene while sprinkling some interesting shit in the middle.  The first episode in the first season was the same way.  It’s all a build up to the (enjoyable) shit storm that is about to hit.  It seems most of this season will be about how people will squeeze Nucky out and how Nucky will fight to stay in.  I’m sure there are a fuck-ton of “Oh Shit” moments washing on the shores in Atlantic City.  I’m lookin forward to them.
